Who we are
SwedAcc AB — Swedish Accreditation Council — is an independent accreditation body headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. We provide accreditation services to certification bodies (CBs) that certify organisations against international management system standards.
Accreditation is the formal recognition that a certification body is competent to carry out certification in defined scopes. By accrediting CBs, SwedAcc supports confidence in certificates issued to organisations in Sweden, the Nordic region and internationally.
Our mission
Our mission is to ensure that accredited certification is performed competently, consistently and impartially, so that a certificate issued under SwedAcc accreditation carries the same meaning regardless of which accredited body issued it.
- Independence — SwedAcc is structurally and financially independent of the bodies it accredits.
- Impartiality — accreditation decisions are taken by impartial committees free from commercial pressure.
- Competence — assessments are performed by qualified assessors with sector-specific expertise.
- Transparency — the status and scope of every accreditation is published in our public register.
